Police have launched a manhunt for the son of a former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) allegedly involved in a firing incident in the upscale Clifton area of Karachi, ARY News reported on Saturday.
According to police officials, the incident occurred following a heated altercation between the suspect and a Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officer. The situation escalated when the accused reportedly opened fire, leaving the officer injured.
Law enforcement authorities said the suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting. The injured officer was shifted to a nearby hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition.
Police have registered a case and initiated raids at multiple locations to apprehend the suspect. Officials added that evidence is being collected, including CCTV footage from the area, to aid in the investigation.
The incident has raised concerns over public safety in one of Karachi’s busiest and most affluent neighborhoods. Authorities have assured that efforts are underway to arrest the accused at the earliest.
