Speculation surrounding Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s possible marriage has intensified after reports linked his potential bride to Austria’s former Habsburg royal household.
According to a source cited by Geo News, Bilawal and his father, President Asif Ali Zardari, are currently in Vienna for discussions concerning a possible engagement and marriage into a prominent European family with historical links to Austria’s former royal family. The source claimed that the father and son had met members of the prospective bride’s family three times since arriving in Austria.
The reports have fueled widespread speculation on social media, with several posts identifying the alleged bride as Gloria von Habsburg. She has been described in media reports as a member of the Habsburg-Lorraine family and a descendant of Austria’s last reigning emperor, Charles I. However, her identity as Bilawal’s prospective bride has not been officially confirmed.
Adding to the speculation, reports have suggested that Bilawal and the prospective bride have known each other for several years and share mutual friends. One report claimed that a wedding could potentially take place in Vienna later this year, although these details remain unverified.
The PPP, however, has rejected the circulating marriage reports. Karachi Mayor and PPP leader Murtaza Wahab said that claims regarding Bilawal’s engagement or wedding were “incorrect and unfounded,” with no official announcement made by Bilawal or his family.
For now, the alleged royal connection remains unconfirmed, and any engagement or wedding announcement would need to come directly from Bilawal Bhutto Zardari or his family.
