The federal government has decided to launch a nationwide crackdown on illegal call centres allegedly involved in cyber fraud, blackmail, gambling, online scams and other unlawful activities.
According to official sources, a special task force has been formed to identify and take action against illegal call centres operating across Pakistan. The task force includes representatives from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), sensitive institutions, federal police and district administrations.
The task force will operate under the supervision of FIA headquarters, while authorities have been directed to submit daily reports on operations to the Ministry of Interior.
