Half-centuries from Cameron Green and Josh Inglis helped Australia recover from an early collapse to post 231-9 against Pakistan in the second ODI at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.

After being asked to bat first, Australia suffered an immediate setback when Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed opener Alex Carey with the very first ball of the innings. Pakistan’s spinners then tightened their grip, reducing the visitors to 51-3.

Inglis steadied the innings with a composed 51 off 74 deliveries, striking five boundaries, while Green anchored the middle order with a patient 53 from 92 balls, including two sixes. The pair shared a vital 51-run partnership to rebuild Australia’s innings.

Green later combined with Matthew Renshaw for a crucial 65-run stand before being dismissed by Abrar Ahmed. A late cameo from Oliver Peake, who smashed 31 off 32 balls, ensured Australia crossed the 230-run mark.

For Pakistan, Shaheen was the standout bowler with figures of 3-36, while Arafat Minhas and Abrar claimed two wickets each.

The match is crucial for both sides, with Pakistan leading the three-match series 1-0 after their victory in the opening ODI.
