Pakistan’s women’s cricket team has departed for Dubai to participate in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, with the team set to compete against some of the region’s leading sides.
The tournament will feature eight teams, with Pakistan aiming to mount a strong campaign and challenge for the continental title.
Pakistan have been drawn in a group featuring arch-rivals India, Thailand and Hong Kong. The national side will face tough competition during the group stage as it looks to secure a place in the knockout phase.
All-rounder Fatima Sana will lead Pakistan in the tournament. The squad includes a combination of experienced players and emerging talents, with the management hoping the team’s preparations will translate into strong performances in Dubai.
The players completed their preparations in Pakistan before travelling to the United Arab Emirates. The training programme focused on improving batting, bowling and fielding, while the team also played competitive matches to build confidence ahead of the tournament.
Pakistan have previously reached the final of the Women’s Asia Cup but have yet to win the title. The players will therefore be looking to create history by securing Pakistan’s first championship in the competition.
The tournament will provide an important opportunity for Pakistan’s players to gain experience against strong Asian teams and build momentum for upcoming international assignments.
