Diesel Price Increased by Rs3.74 Per Liter

The federal government has increased the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs3.74 per liter, taking the new price to Rs378.05 per liter. At the same time, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs3.13 per liter.

The latest adjustment means consumers using diesel-powered vehicles will face higher fuel costs, while motorists relying on petrol will receive some relief at the pump. The changes are expected to have a direct impact on transportation and operating costs across the country.

Diesel is widely used by commercial transport operators, buses, trucks, agricultural machinery and other heavy vehicles. The increase could therefore raise transportation expenses and potentially add pressure to prices of goods and services if higher costs are passed on to consumers.

In contrast, the reduction in petrol prices is expected to provide modest relief to private motorists and other petrol users. The decrease comes as households continue to closely monitor fuel prices amid broader economic pressures.

Fuel prices in Pakistan are reviewed periodically based on international oil prices, exchange-rate movements, petroleum levy and other applicable factors. Changes in global energy markets can therefore influence domestic prices.

The latest adjustment reflects differing movements in the prices of petroleum products, with diesel becoming more expensive despite the reduction in petrol prices.

Consumers and transport operators are now watching for further changes in global oil prices and government policies that could influence the next fuel-price review. Any sustained rise in international crude prices or significant currency movements could affect domestic petroleum prices in the coming weeks. SEO Metadata
