The judicial commission investigating the death of businessman Mir Raza Ali has appealed to citizens to provide any information that could help uncover the facts surrounding the case.
The commission has invited members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or possess relevant information to come forward and assist the investigation. Authorities are seeking credible evidence that could help establish the circumstances leading to Mir Raza’s death.
The commission, headed by Sindh High Court Justice Omar Sial, has also announced a Rs100,000 reward for information considered significant to the investigation.
Mir Raza Ali, a 25-year-old businessman and owner of the Wafflix food business, went missing from Karachi’s PECHS area on July 28. His body was discovered the following day in Gulistan-i-Jauhar with a gunshot wound.
The case attracted widespread attention after questions were raised about the circumstances surrounding his death and the initial investigation. A subsequent post-mortem examination determined that Mir Raza had been murdered, prompting demands for a transparent and thorough inquiry.
The judicial commission has taken steps to encourage public participation and has sought information through advertisements and notices in Urdu, English and Sindhi. Notices have also been placed at the location where the body was found.
The commission’s latest appeal is aimed at locating potential witnesses and obtaining evidence that may not have been available to investigators previously. Officials have urged citizens with relevant information to cooperate with the inquiry and provide details directly to the commission.
The investigation remains ongoing, while Mir Raza’s family continues to seek answers regarding his death. The commission’s efforts are expected to focus on establishing a clear timeline of events and determining responsibility for the killing.
