Pakistan has launched Punjab Land Record Services at its diplomatic missions in the United Arab Emirates, making it easier for overseas Pakistanis to access property and land records without travelling to Pakistan.
The service has been introduced at the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai in collaboration with the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA). The missions have begun providing Fards, official documents that contain land ownership information.
The initiative is designed to benefit Pakistani citizens living in the UAE who own property or agricultural land in Punjab. Previously, many overseas Pakistanis faced the inconvenience of travelling to Pakistan or depending on relatives and authorized representatives to obtain land documents.
Under the new facility, eligible citizens can access land-record services through Pakistan’s diplomatic missions in the UAE. The move forms part of wider government efforts to improve public services for overseas Pakistanis and expand access to digitized government facilities.
The Punjab Land Records Authority has introduced various digital systems aimed at making land ownership records more accessible and reducing delays and paperwork. The latest initiative extends these services directly to Pakistan’s expatriate community.
Officials have advised Pakistani citizens in the UAE seeking information about the service to contact the relevant diplomatic mission or its designated helpline before visiting.
The launch is expected to make property management significantly more convenient for thousands of Pakistanis residing in the UAE. It could also reduce the need for overseas property owners to make repeated trips to Pakistan for routine documentation.
The government has increasingly focused on providing essential public services to overseas Pakistanis through embassies and consulates, with digital and remote access helping reduce administrative hurdles.
The introduction of Punjab land-record services in the UAE marks another step toward bringing government facilities closer to Pakistan’s large expatriate population.
