Haas rookie Oliver Bearman remains confident he can become a Formula One race winner despite the American team’s ongoing struggles in the 2026 season, insisting that patience and continued development will eventually deliver success.

The 21-year-old Briton, regarded as one of Formula One’s brightest young talents, acknowledged that Haas currently lacks the pace to compete consistently at the front of the grid. However, Bearman said the team’s present difficulties have not diminished his belief in his long-term prospects.

Speaking ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix weekend, Bearman said he remains fully committed to Haas and is focused on maximizing every opportunity while contributing to the team’s development. He stressed that success in Formula One requires persistence and that building a competitive package takes time.

Haas has endured a challenging campaign, struggling to match the performance of leading teams such as McLaren, Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes. The team has often found itself battling in the midfield, making podium finishes and race victories an unrealistic target in the short term.

Despite those challenges, Bearman has earned praise for his mature performances and consistency. The British driver believes the experience he is gaining during difficult seasons will prove invaluable as both he and the team continue to improve.

“I believe I can win races in Formula One,” Bearman said, expressing confidence that the right combination of hard work, development and future opportunities will allow him to fight for victories.

The Ferrari junior graduate has been widely tipped as one of the sport’s future stars after impressing during his substitute appearances in 2024 and securing a full-time Formula One seat with Haas.

As the second half of the season approaches, Bearman says his priority is to keep learning, score valuable points whenever possible and help Haas move closer to the front of the grid, while remaining confident that race-winning opportunities will come in the years ahead.
